THE ULTIMATE JOURNEY PLANNER

Are you heading along Queensland's East Coast and into the remote Great Barrier Reef waters north of Townsville?  If so, this book is written for you.

This book is a travel log and passage planner following our journey north from Townsville to Thursday Island (TI) in the Torres Strait Island group during August and September and then the return journey from October and November.

This guide is not a definitive anchorage guide of the East Australian Coast — there are other books for that. Townsville to TI does contain up-to-date information on those anchorages between Townsville and Thursday Island we used and it is an invaluable guide for planning your own voyage.

Using the 1 in 60 Rule - the basic formula

On every part of your journey, there is something different to see, explore and experience.

However you choose to do it, do not make the mistake of running too fast with the prevailing south-easterly winds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Once I receive your order, I'll calculate the freight to your nominated address for the number of books you have ordered and email you an invoice. I may send you an SMS prompting you to check your email. If my email to you is not in your inbox, please check your spam/junk mail folder. On the attached invoice are details on how to pay. Once I have received your payment (in Australian dollars) I will dispatch the book(s) and email you a tracking number. All orders will be sent with a tracking number either by Australia Post or their subsidary company Star Track Express. The mobile phone number you provided whilst ordering will be attached to your package and the delivery couriers will call you should the need arise.

If after receiving the invoice, which will show you the exact freight charges, you don't want to proceed with the order, simply return email me and let me know you don't want to proceed. I'll cancel the invoice. No stress. If I have not heard from you within 5 business days, I'll cancel it anyway. But don't be shy, just let me know you've changed your mind.

Instructions are on every invoice, but if you want to know in advance, this is how it goes. I'm old-school, and I hate unnecessary fees.

The easiest way to pay without incurring bank fees is to use PayID with my Australian Business Number (ABN). Open your banking app, select "pay anyone", add a new payee, choose "PayID", select "ABN" and enter 42331107439. Done!
Another fee-free way to pay is to use my BSB and Account Number and pay from your bank into mine. There's a few more numbers involved, but it's equally secure. Those details can be found on your invoice.
Sometimes in life stuff doesn't go to plan. Simply email me with your problem and a picture of the issue and we'll take it from there. Generally, any freight for returns will be paid by you to return the goods to me. Once received, I'll issue a refund in full, or as agreed, to your nominated bank account.
No. I'm not registered for GST and therefore do not add GST to the order.
